Built from the field, not a boardroom

HandyStack was built from firsthand experience in operations, handyman work, and old school work ethic — not from a Silicon Valley boardroom.

Contractor reviewing job paperwork at a workbench
From the founder

Hi, I'm Kendrick

Before building HandyStack, I served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Electrician, where I learned the importance of discipline, systems, accountability, and doing the job right the first time. After military service, I moved into construction and project management roles, overseeing mechanical and facility projects where organization, communication, and execution directly affected cost, timelines, and customer trust.

I also spent years doing handyman and property improvement work on the side, and one thing became obvious very quickly: most small contractors are stuck juggling notebooks, text messages, spreadsheets, receipts, photos, and overpriced software that feels bloated and overly complicated.

The reality is that most handymen and small contractors don't need enterprise software with hundreds of features. They need simple tools that work well, save time, help them stay organized, and make it easier to understand whether jobs are actually profitable.

Another major challenge for many small contractors is marketing. A lot of handymen either don't know how, or simply don't want, to spend time building websites, writing polished social media posts, or maintaining an online presence. But today's customers — especially younger homeowners — often place far more trust in businesses that have an active and professional social presence.

That's why HandyStack includes tools designed to make that process easier. The goal is to help contractors showcase their work, stay visible online, and build credibility without spending hours trying to become marketers or content creators.

Practical tools, without unnecessary complexity

HandyStack was created to give small service businesses real tools for real work. The goal is simple:

  • Create estimates quickly
  • Track jobs and expenses
  • Understand profitability
  • Stay organized
  • Maintain a professional online presence
  • Spend less time buried in paperwork

Everything in HandyStack is built around real-world contractor workflows and the belief that software should support the work — not get in the way of it. This platform is being built with a long-term focus on simplicity, reliability, and practical value for hardworking small business owners.
